Abstract
Abstract In an isotropic semi-infinite medium it is possible to compute the stress field of an angular dislocation, the arms of which are, respectively, parallel and perpendicular to the free surface. The contribution of each arm being separable, and the stress field of the parallel arm being known, the stress field of a dislocation segment perpendicular to a free surface is readily obtainable.
