Abstract
This article generalizes the numerical and experimental results of studies of the kinetics of the deformation and strength of welded storage tanks with shape defects during low-cycle loading. New relations are proposed for determining the stress-intensity factor near dents and angular sections of butt welds. The study data is used to calculate estimate the low-cycle strength of cylindrical and spherical storage tanks.
