Abstract

Abstract In this paper is presented the shell components of Bulgarian 120-mm multiple use short-range training mortar ammunition. These components are constructed and added to the shell of a 120-mm high explosive mortar round. Thus, with minimal financial resources, the 120-mm multiple use shell were designed and constructed so as to be trained recruits in firing the mortar. Strength calculation of the new shell parts of the 120-mm short-range ammunition has been completed. The largest axial stresses that have arisen in the smoke cartridge during a shot have been calculated in order to prevent the self-ignition of the charge.
