Abstract

The strategic role of HRM to formulate company strategy and implement those activities through HR activities. Strategic human resource management is the linking of human resource with strategic goals and objectives in order to improve business performance and develop organisational culture that foster innovation, flexibility and competetive advantage. In an organisation strategic human resource management is accepting and involving the HR function as a strategic partner in the formulation and implementation of company's strategies through HR activities such as recruting, selecting, training & rewarding personnel. It is concerned with both meeting human capital requirements and the development of process capabilities, that is ability to get things done effectively. All these things effectively if the employer are interested to invest on employee development. Interconnection between human resource management role, employee skill development and employer has been focus of this paper while highlighting importance and effect. This paper is based on presenting the employer prespective through secondary data of food processing industry in India.
