Abstract
Abstract This paper provide details a strategic initiative to incorporate geotourism into the Grasberg Block Cave (GBC) mine. The aims of this study is to enhance educational opportunities for students, researchers, and academic institutions. The TOPSIS methodology was used to evaluate various mine levels based on critical factors such as safety, accessibility, and environmental impact. This evaluation informed a phased development strategy, prioritizing the haulage level for initial development due to their strong infrastructure and high operational safety. Subsequent phases will focus on lower-priority levels for specialized or virtual educational programs, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing risks. Stakeholder engagement is integrated into each development phase, ensuring that the educational programs are both relevant and effective. The strategy emphasizes robust risk management and sustainability, ensuring that the project remains safe, environmentally responsible, and financially viable. This initiative not only broadens our educational outreach but also positions the GBC mine as a leader in sustainable and innovative mining practices. Future research will explore the application of these strategies to other contexts and the incorporation of emerging technologies to further enhance the geotourism experience.
