Abstract
This article aims to describe the strategy for improving literacy competence for fifth grade students of MIN 1 Boyolali in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research was conducted using the principles of descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were the head of madrasah, teachers and students to fulfill the desired data. Data were collected through interviews, documentation and observation. To ensure the validity of the data, the author used triangulation techniques. The results showed that improving literacy competence for students was carried out through several activities. Reading literacy is improved through text reading activities, discussing reading texts and creative writing. Digital literacy is improved through regular visits to the Boyolali Library. The conclusion of this article is that implementing strategies to improve literacy competence can be a fun learning experience and challenge learners' critical and creative thinking.
