Abstract

The needs of volunteers in empowering dakwah efforts in the community are undeniable. Community involvement as volunteers is important to realize the function of mosque institutions as a centre for spiritual and social development in the community. But this effort is faced with the challenge of a shortage of full-time and well-trained mosque volunteers. This article aims to present a strategy for the calibration of mosque volunteers for the empowerment of dakwah efforts in the community. This study is qualitatively adopted development design which is implemented through three phases, namely the need analysis phase, the formation phase and the evaluation phase. The findings of the study resulted in fifteen (15) volunteer calibration strategies covering membership, calibration programmes and training. This strategy needs to be an important focus of the mosque institution to increase the involvement and competency of mosque volunteers to be agents of change in the community
