Abstract
The pandemic has impacted education and educators who work with children. In this sense, they reinvented themselves and the media came overwhelmingly into schools, forcing them to reframe teaching in order to guarantee a minimum of learning. In view of this, we investigated the contribution of the media in the storytelling process for the teaching and learning of children in the 1st year of Elídia Maria dos Santos School in Rondon do Pará. Bearing in mind that storytelling at the beginning of schooling is a fundamental resource for the literacy/literacy process, we sought to understand the relevance of this practice, as well as the role of the media in education to form readers, creative and critical citizens. Interviews were also conducted with the two teachers. It was noted that, despite the evolution of the means of communication, schools and families still have many access difficulties, which makes the effectiveness of educational actions via the media unfeasible.
