Abstract
Abstract Stochastic models are developed to determine the production rate and efficiency of an integrated pulp and paper factory, which consists of a pulp mill, a storage tank and two parallel paper mills or pulp dryers. The effects of storage tank capacity and random stoppages in the mills on line efficiency and line output rate are investigated. The models are general and can be used for any continuous process system
