Abstract

Abstract Four insecticide treatments were evaluated to determine their effects on green stink bug populations. Insecticides were foliar-applied on 6 Sep ‘84 on ‘Essex’ soybean grown on the Russell Settle Farm in Richmond County, VA. Individual plots were 6 rows, 150 ft long, and replicated 3 times. Each spray concentrate was applied with a CO2-powered backpack sprayer at 32 psi that delivered 30 gal of finished formulation per acre. Individual treatments were evaluated 1, 4, 7, and 21 days after application by comparing the number of green stink bugs, as well as green cloverworms and spiders, per 50 sweeps in the treated plots to those in the untreated plots. Yield estimates were obtained by harvesting 12 row-ft in each plot.
