Abstract
Summary Isoproterenol stimulated the incorporation of 3H-uridine and 3H-orotic acid into total and nuclear RNA fractions of rat. The maximum stimulation in the nuclear fraction occurred 12 to 18 hr after the administration of the drug and it was sensitive to actinomycin D. The same dose of actinomycin D (250 mg/kg) which suppressed nuclear RNA formation was without effect on the incorporation of 14C-algal protein hydrolysate into the proteins of saliva and salivary gland.
