Abstract

The envelope equations for the coupling of modes in the stimulated Raman scattering are solved numerically and compared to the results obtained from the solution of the kinetic equations. The analysis is effected using four-mode coupled equations, in which the excitation of the Stokes and the anti-Stokes modes are both included. It is shown that the anti-Stokes mode couples to the pump and the plasma wave and plays a non-negligible role in the evolution of the system.
