Abstract

There are definite criteria for steroid treatment of hemangiomas in children. Once these criteria are met, therapy should be instituted early. Side-effects have been minimal. A patient with capillary, cavernous, and port-wine hemangiomas is reported. There was no response in the port-wine hemangiomas, but prompt and satisfactory response occurred in the capillary-cavernous types.
