Abstract

Stereochemical studies on the copper(I) halide cleavage of thallium-carbon bonds in acetonitrile indicate that at 80°C a radical path accounts for approximately 2 3 of the product, whereas at 60°C an ionic path predominates. The results are consistent with e.s.r. measurements by a spin trapping technique.
