Abstract

The hybrid redesign of a dance improvisation course was inspired by reflection on the essential features of the class experience. Asynchronous online lessons were created to encourage students to move through a structured, cued dance experience and reflect on their learning. This article relates the inquiry process guiding the curriculum development, describes the content and structure of three sample lessons, offers tips for constructing asynchronous dance learning experiences, and reflects on aspects of this curricular structure that will inform future teaching across delivery formats.
