Abstract
The uranium carbide (UCX) and the silicon carbide (SiC) targets have been developed for RAON ISOL. The fabrication process of the UCX target has been developed with the goal of the low bulk density (<3 g/cm3) and the large diameter (50 mm). A prototype of the UCX target is planned to be used for the proton beams of 70 MeV, up to 10 kW for ISOL system. And the SiC target will be used in the commissioning stage. The properties of the SiC targets suitable for the commissioning stage were investigated by calculating isotope release time according to microstructure and conducting thermal stability test.
