Abstract
A review of diagnostic-related training for operators and maintainers in the nuclear industry was performed. The work, funded by the Electric Power Research Institute, consisted of site visits to utility and training vendor facilities. Structured interviews and opinionnaires addressed the areas of training program structure, training implications of post-TMI requirements, knowledge and skills requirements for diagnostic performance, diagnostic training techniques, and implicit and explicit diagnostic training objectives.
