Abstract

The type species of the genus Cyrtosia, C. marginata Perris, is diagnosed and its distribution clarified. Comparisons with closely related species are made and thoracic patterns illustrated to aid in separation. Notes on the type specimens in the Museum National d Histoire Naturelle in Paris are presented and a lectotype is selected. It is recorded from Jersey in the Channel Islands and Germany for the first time.
