Status and prospects of heat treatment in petroleum machinery manufacturing in China

Abstract

AbstractPetroleum and petrochemical equipment manufacturing has become an important part of the machinery manufacturing industry in China, and has been experiencing sustainable growth in recent years. Based on statistic data, the number of China’s enterprises with large productivity for petroleum and petrochemical equipment had reached to more than 1400 in 2008, and the total sales had reached to 160 billion Chinese Yuan (CNY). Among them, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has more than 50 enterprises with the total number of employees around 50 000 and the sales revenue reached to 49·8 billion CNY, almost one third of the total market in China. China has become a big power in petroleum machinery manufacturing. Heat treatment is not only the basis for machinery manufacturing industry, but also the key process of petroleum equipment manufacturing.
