Abstract

Friction welding is widely used for welding both similar materials and dissimilar materials. However, when friction welding dissimilar materials such as aluminum alloy and steel, it is very difficult to obtain a sound weld. In the present study, using statistical and Weibull analysis difference in joint performance between aluminum alloy pipe/carbon steel pipe and aluminum alloy pipe/stainless steel pipe is clarified.
