Abstract
Summary In many countries tumours are statistically the second commonest cause of death in children. In order to give the epidemiological investigation a wider scope, collection and evaluation of empirical clinical data based on a practicable system are necessary. According to the order of priorities dictated by frequency, 195 tumours of the head and neck in children were systematized and analysed clinically. This showed conspiracuous differences in comparison with adult tumours. The group of malignant tumours is not homogenous. But according to our personal experience, the prognosis is not as bad as in generally accepted for those tumours outside and region of the head and neck.
