Abstract

The method of static concentration waves in the theory of order-disorder transitions of substitutional and interstitial binary solid solutions is considered. Applications of this method to the following particular cases are discussed: 1) determination of the atomic arrangements of the ordered phases in Cu-Au alloys; 2) calculation of the Fe-Al equilibrium diagram starting from X-ray diffuse scattering of single crystals of disordered equilibrium Fe-Al alloys; 3) application of selected area electron diffraction patterns to the determination of interstitial superstructures (suboxides) in Ta-O solid solutions.
