Abstract

In this paper, the different structures of single walled carbon nanotube like zigzag, armchair and chiral are modeled. The modeling is done by considering the carbon atoms as key points and bond between the carbon atoms as lines. Buckling analysis of different structures of carbon nanotube performed using finite element analysis using Ansys software. It has been shown that the ability of carbon nanotube to withstand for the axial compressive force is considerably affected by aspect ratio and structure of Single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and also the effect of different chiral angle for constant diameter and length are discussed.
