Abstract

As a country based on law, Indonesia has an obligation to provide human rights protection for every one of its people. This article discusses the concept of human rights in international law, the responsibility of states in protecting human rights according to international law, as well as the implementation of state responsibility in practice and case studies of state responsibility in protecting human rights. The purpose of this research is to find out the state's responsibility in protecting human rights. Based on the results of the discussion, the State has the responsibility to protect human rights from violations by third parties. This means that the state must prevent, investigate, prosecute and punish violations of the human rights of its citizens. including international role institutions and legal instruments governing state responsibilities in enforcing human rights.
