Abstract
Stark profiles of the He II resonance line have been measured photoelectrically for several conditions in the range 5*1016<or=ne<or=2*1017 cm-3 and 3.2<Te<3.5 eV, using a Z-pinch as a plasma source. If the spatial electron density distribution is taken into account, the measured line profiles are in reasonable agreement with theoretical profiles calculated by Kepple (1972).
