This report is concerned with in vitro studies upon staphylococcal growth as inhibited by eight antimicrobial agents, used singly and in various combinations, and with observations made in the management of 60 cases of serious staphylococcal infections in adults.Prior to 1941 three of four patients with staphylococcal infection complicated by bacteremia died, with the course of disease mostly uninfluenced by antiserum and sulfonamides.1, 2From 1942 until 1946, with the use of penicillin, the...Bibliography1.
