Abstract
Barium-133 has been standardized by 4 πβ(ppc)- γ(HPGe) coincidence counting using a live-timed bi-dimensional data acquisition system. The two-dimensional efficiency function based on a computer discrimination method gave reliable results, as well as providing a useful check on the conventional efficiency extrapolation method using a wide γ-gate. The estimated uncertainty was approx. 0.3% for simple mean of five combinations.
