Abstract

We study the periodic Anderson model within second order perturbation theory with respect to the Coulomb correlation U. The f-electron self-energy and spectral function are calculated for different temperatures. A strongly temperature dependent many-particle (Kondo)resonance peak is obtained within this approach. Two different temperature scales (coherence temperature and Kondo temperature) can be identified. An analytic expression for the heavy quasiparticle dispersion can be derived, partly from the numerical results.
