Abstract
The author advocates that the International Geological Congress should be asked to set up an International Commission on Stratigraphical Nomenclature charged with formulating a Code of Rules analogous with that which has brought order into zoological nomenclature. In this paper he proposes a draft Code of Rules and shows with what results it can be applied to the European Jurassic.
