Abstract

Stable Po 2-region of the title compounds at 1200°C has been determined via an isothermal gravimetry. Ca 2FeMoO 6 was stable within the region −8.9 ≧ log Po 2 ≧ −12.5 , decomposed by reduction into a triphasic mixture of CaO + Mo + ε-Fe 3Mo 2, and by oxidation into a biphasic mixture of CaMoO 4 (Scheelite structure) + CaFeO 2.5 (Brownmillerite structure). Sr 2FeMoO 6 was stable within the region −9.8 ≧ log Po 2 ≧ −13.5 , decomposed by reduction into SrO + Mo + ε-Fe 3Mo 2 and by oxidation into SrMoO 4 (Scheelite structure) + SrMoO 3−x (non-stoichiometric perovskite structure).
