Abstract
Experimental investigations on the influence of the surfaces consisting of micro slots on the disturbances in boundary layer of the sharp cone are performed at Mach number M∞ = 5.9, total temperature T0 = 415±5 K and unit Reynolds numbers Re1∞ = (2.5; 4.2)·106 m−1. Surfaces consisting of micro slots with different spacing, width and depth are investigated. It is found that the use of surfaces with micro slots makes it possible to reduce the amplitude of the most unstable disturbances in a hypersonic boundary layer (second mode disturbances). The effectiveness of such surfaces depends on the spacing, width and depth of micro slots. It is shown that surfaces consisting of micro slots lead to destabilization of disturbances with frequencies lower than the frequencies of the second disturbance mode. The optimal parameters of the surfaces consisting of micro slots are found.
