Abstract

This work is aimed to the investigation of the influence of a slots depth on disturbances in a hypersonic boundary layer. Experimental investigations of the influence of the surface consist of streamwise slots on development of second mode disturbances in the hypersonic boundary layer are conducted on the sharp cone at Mach number M∞ = 5.9. The experiments show that second mode disturbances are dumped on surfaces with slots. Numerical simulation of an interaction of the ultrasonic acoustic wave with surfaces with slots, which are used in experiments, are performed. The optimum slots depth is found.
