Abstract
This paper focuses on the term during financial crisis which especially in 2009 resulted in decrease of self-governing regions revenues. Banskobystrický, Nitriansky and Trnavský self-governing region during mentioned year recorded the decline of it´s expenditures comparing to the previous year. Research analyzed closing accounts of mentioned regiones to identify instruments and politics, which were used by these institutions to stabilize their financial situation. Analysis of documentation find out that there were some instruments used by all researched regions. Between those instruments belong surplus of previous years, loans and reducing operative expenditures. On the side of revenues there were used financial transfers and refunded projects by the EU. Very strong instrument on the side of expenditrues was identified abandoning of realization of capital projects.
