Abstract
A fourth-order buck converter with low source current ripple content was reported in [9]. Though it has four L-C elements like buck converter with an input filter but differs in the achievable performance. Structurally the main difference is that the capacitor is in the bypass path. In view of this, it is essential to predetermine the closed-loop stability and robustness-related aspects. For this purpose, linearised model formulation is described in brief. Subsequently, the eigenvalue sensitivity index and asymptotic stability robustness indices are computed. The issues arising due to closed-loop operation on the stability robustness are analyzed through the sensitivities indices. Also, the parametric and model uncertainties impact on the stability indices is brought out. Illustrative case studies are presented for the scale-down converter system. The observations obtained through analysis are validated through sample simulation results.
