Stability of the bound states in Coulomb three-body systems with unit charges. II. Other excited states for symmetric systems

Abstract

For pt. I. see ibid. vol.25, no.13, p.3049-58 (1992). The results of highly accurate variational calculations of some lower-lying bound excited prethreshold S (L=0)-, P (L=1)- and D (L=2)-states in a Coulomb three-body symmetric system with unit charges (X+X+Z-) are presented. The positions of the thresholds for a number of states in such a system have been determined. The dependence of the threshold position as a function of angular momentum L is studied for the ground and excited states.
