Abstract

The changes of AsF 5-doped polyacetylene (PA) films as a function of the time elapsed between the polymerization and the doping reaction are presented. PA films are stored at −78°C under nitrogen and isomerized under different conditions just before doping with AsF 5. A decreasing tendency of weight-uptake of the dopant with the time of storage is observed. Experimental results are explained on the basis of an intercalation model and the generation of crosslinks in PA films.
