Abstract

An entire system of the chopper-controlled dc series motor is derived taking into account the core saturation, response delay of field flux, etc. First an equivalent linear model is derived and then its transfer function for a small disturbance is derived. The effects of the gain and time constant of a current feedback circuit, constants of power source filter and smoothing reactor, and response delay time of field flux on the stability of the chopper-controlled dc series motor are analyzed.
