Abstract

In DC microgrid, the negative impedance caused by constant power load (CPL) affects the stability of the system. The complexity and interaction of power electronic equipment also bring challenges to the stability analysis and design of the system. In this paper, the passivity-based stability criterion (PBSC) is adopted to analyze the stability and parameter design of the classic subsystem of DC microgrid, in order to guarantee the overall stability of the DC microgrid. The effectiveness of PBSC is verified by theoretical analysis and simulation. The stability analysis and derivation the of the system is greatly simplified by using the PBSC compare to the traditional method. Further, the proposed PBSC method does not have the assumption of power flow, it is also applicable for the bidirectional power system. Thus, it could extend to more complex topology of the DC microgrid.
