Abstract

Nowadays progress is tremendously increasing in advanced automotive systems. Numerous converters are interconnected with each other to provide required voltage level in such type of system, which is generally called as multi-converter system. This system has several loads such as Constant Power Load (CPL), Constant Voltage Load (CVL) and other loads. Owing to presence of CPLs, systems offers negative impedance characteristics which creates destabilizing effect on the supplying converter. Various attempts are made by authors to solve the destabilizing problem of multi-converter system. The destabilizing effect can be reduced by inserting parasitics components of diode, switch, inductor and capacitor as well as increasing the CVL of the system connecting on the same DC bus. It is observed that increasing the PCVL and the parasitics improve the stability out at the cost of efficiency. In order to decide the optimum operating condition, this can give reasonably good stability at same time minimizing the compromise made on the efficiency of the system. In this paper the objective function is expressed as a weighted sum of the deviations from the maximum value of efficiency and stability when considered independently.
