Abstract
Sustainable architecture, make the maximum use of daylight necessary. It is important to include usage of day light in to the design process in order to provide energy-saving and efficient use of natural energy resources. In this study, daylight design is discussed with in the scope of sustainable work space design which have a high spatial quality and comfort. After the definitions of the notions of sustainability and sustainable architecture, the use of daylight in sustainable architectural design is evaluated. Throughout the optained data, the usage of daylight in working space is evaluated with in the scope of sustainable architecture, school buildings, offices and other work places which are succeed in their profession are analyzed. After the general analysis of the working places, the place of daylight design at school buildings is detailed to create the preliminary research for case study. As a case study Eskisehir Anadolu University Department of Architecture’s South-west side ateliers are evaluated and to raise ateliers day light usage to the best level, an alternative project is suggested
