Abstract

Abstract Pumpkins were planted on 15 Jul, in Fresno, California. Treatment plots were replicated 4 times in a randomized complete block design. Each plot consisted of a single row 8 ft long on 5-ft centers. Foliar treatments were applied on 23 Aug, to a large population of squash bug eggs, nymphs, and adults. A CO2 backpack sprayer with a single 8002 flat fan nozzle was used to deliver 200 gal/acre at 40 psi. A single plant was marked in the center of each plot. At 4, 7, and 14 days after application squash bug control was assessed by counting the nymphs and adults on that plant.
