Abstract
ABSTRACT THE energy gradient line of a sprinkler irrigation lateral (or submain) can be expressed by a dimensionless energy gradient curve. The pressure variation along a lateral (or submain) can be determined by combining the friction drop and energy gain (or loss) by slopes. A design chart has been developed for uniform down slope situations. A simple table is presented for non-uniform slope situation calculations. The primary object is to include slope effects in the design of sprinkler systems.
