Abstract

A series of experiments was carried out to determine (1) the role of plant parasitic nematodes on the development of Spring Dead Spot disease of bermudagrass and (2) the effect of some commercial fungicides on the control of this disease. Nematodes did not influence the development of the disease significantly. Some of the fungicides provided a considerable improvement of the appearance of the grass in the experimental plots. Terasan OM, Panogen, Acti-dione-Thiram, Spring-Bak and Orthocide 50 were among the best of these chemicals tested.
