Abstract

This case discusses about the Indian retail sector with special reference to sports retailing. Though India is the world’s second largest country in population, the importance given to the sports activity was not significant until the early 2000s. Of late, sporting is seen as a profession and many youth are actively seeking a career in sports. Many new leagues have been started, providing an opportunity to the younger generation to excel and have a career in sports and sports-related fields. This case details about the company Decathlon India on how they entered into the market and their strategies to offer value to the customers.
