Abstract

If the Heisenberg picture correlation functions of a quantum system coincide with the correlation functions of a classical stochastic process, the interpretation is viable that in each individual experiment the quantum system plays out one realization of the classical stochastic process. Such a hypothesis leads to predictions conventionally ascribed to spontaneous symmetry breaking.
