Abstract
Spontaneous elongation of melt-formed polycaproamide fibres has been investigated using infrared and small and wide angle X-ray diffraction spectrometry. The reason for this phenomenon was shown to be the crystallization of the polymer. The activation energy of this process is 26 kJ/mole.
