Abstract

A75-year-old woman presented with left-sided abdominal pain that irradiated to her left shoulder 1 hour after completing an uneventful diagnostic colonoscopy during which moderate external compression had to be used to pass the hepatic flexure. Her medical history included asymptomatic coronary heart disease, chronic bone pain due to osteoporosis, and 2 surgical interventions for gastric ulcers.
