Abstract
Twelve-year-old S.L. was at riding practice atop her horse when she lost control and fell to the ground. As she landed, the horse became startled and, in attempt to run away, stepped on the child. S.L. was not wearing a protective vest during the incident and the horse's hind limb landed on S.L.'s abdomen. This case report will examine the care of a pediatric patient diagnosed with a splenic laceration sustained during an equestrian accident.
