Abstract
In recent decades, the spiritual singing of the old believers have become the object of research in various fields of humanities and social sciences. The article analyzes and evaluates a number of scientific works on history, philosophy, art history and cultural studies devoted to the study of old believers and the singing culture of old believers of different denominations. The publication also notes that for the culturological study of the spiritual singing of the old believers of the Belokrinitskaya hierarchy of the south of Western Siberia of the second half of the 19th – early 21st centuries there is a need for a comprehensive approach to the researched subject, involving its consideration in historical, philosophical, sociological, ethnographic and art criticism aspects.
