Abstract

NdNi1−xCOxO3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) samples have been synthesized using a sol-gel method. The samples have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The magnetic properties have been studied by means of ac magnetic susceptibility and dc magnetization. NdNiO3 and NdCoO3 show a Curie-Weiss-like behaviour while samples with 0.3 ≤ x ≤ 0.8 show a magnetic anomaly around 28 K. The experimental results suggest a spin-glass phase transition.
